Los Angeles’ The Airborne Toxic Event is set to finally embark on their epic Hollywood Park Tour … stopping by First Avenue in Minneapolis on April 16th. Their new sixth album Hollywood Park will be out March 22.
Support on this tour is from Mondo Cozmo (aka Joshua Keith Ostrander). Mondo Cozmo’s new album This is for the Barbarians is due out April 8th via Last Gang Records.

In a rare appearance, beloved The Magnetic Fields is returning to the Twin Cities, at the Fitzgerald Theater in St Paul on April 16th. This is on the news that Merge Records reissued one of the band’s earliest release The House of Tomorrow, remastered on opaque spring green vinyl (as well as basic black).

Blues Explosion Jon Spencer is back with his band The HITmakers. I believe the touring drummer will feature Sleater Kinney’s Janet Weiss …. Who will also serve as opening band Quasi.
Talking about Weiss, Spencer said, “As a long-time fan of her wicked drumming style, I am so very excited to have this opportunity to play with Janet!”
Since SK broke up, we’ve seen Weiss drumming for various projects… including working for Stephen Malkmus as The Jicks. I’ll never forget the first time I saw them play at 80/30 Festival in Iowa and realizing it was Weiss.
