Arkansas severe weather forecast for Sunday evening, Monday morning

Happy Saturday Everyone. I’m meteorologist Roberts, sir, with a check of your forecast. Unfortunately, we’ve got some active weather to talk about over the next 24-30 hours or so with showers and thunderstorms rolling in here as we get toward Sunday evening and overnight Sunday and into Monday. That is why Sunday is a severe day in terms of saturday evening, just a couple of stray showers leftover out there. You can see by 10 o’clock most everybody is dry, maybe a shower up across Macdonald County. This cold front really doesn’t know what it wants to do. It will start to come through the area, so we could be quite chilly here in northwest Arkansas by sunday morning, the front kind of stalls out and then it might lift back north and that’ll set the stage and the focal point for showers and thunderstorms to start to develop, especially I think after sunset on sunday you can see by eight o’clock the models say numerous thunderstorms here. Some of them could be strong to severe as this area of low pressure rides up along that front. I think by midnight one a.m. Most of the activity is starting to shut off and shift its way to the east, but you can still see portions of the river valley by two a.m. Some strong to possibly severe thunderstorms and then by monday morning just some garden variety showers out there and we’re cooling off. Some of this could wrap up as a little bit of wet snow out there, slight risk for severe weather sunday evening through early monday that those are scattered severe thunderstorms. We do have a pretty good shot at a damaging winds. That’s the main threat with these storms, but cannot rule out an isolated tornado as well as excessive rain. That’s all on the table for sunday. That’s something we’ll be keeping our eye on. So you’re gonna want to check back with us for updates to this forecast in the meantime, for the saturday evening, have yourself a good night. Arkansas severe weather forecast for Sunday evening, Monday morning

The 40/29 Get Ready Weather team is keeping a close eye on the skies for another round of severe weather to wrap up the weekend. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop near or along a stationary front that will stall over the area Sunday afternoon and evening. As low pressure rides up along the front through Northeast Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas, strong to severe thunderstorms could possibly develop. The time frame for the worst of the weather looks to be after sunset through 1 or 2 a.m. Monday. Damaging winds look to be the largest threat with any storms that become severe, however, an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Very heavy rain is also possible that could lead to some isolated and localized flash flooding.
