HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A Molokai man has pleaded guilty to assaulting a flight attendant.
Officials said 33-year-old Steven Sloan Jr. allegedly punched a Hawaiian Airlines flight attendant in the chest and then hit the man on the back of his head.
The incident took place in September 2021 on a flight from Honolulu to Hilo.

Officials said a flight attendant was walking through the aisle, collecting trash. When he approached the 6th row of seats, Sloan allegedly assaulted the worker.
Passengers and crew came together to detain Sloan and the pilot rerouted the flight back to Honolulu.
If convicted, Sloan faces 20 years in prison for the assault.
